To me its not that different from finding loot on randon islands or in a shipwreck. Just something to get people out of workmanlike drudgery of "Go here, come back, now go there, repeat" that a lot of players seem to fall into if they dont meet other ships because early quests keep the maps very close to where you are. Itd be great if the game could tell "Theres low population in this region of this instance" and then increase the odds of an npc ship spawning in that area. This is probably easier said than done but theres been times where I havent seen another player for 2-3 hours despite staying in the same region. Keep the designs specific from player ships so seeing another player ship is still an "event". There could be a merchant ship that carries a few animals and some boxes of tea thats less aggressive and a pirate ship that carries chests, antiquities and skulls thats more agressive and will fire on sight. It is just a matter of being careful and scoping things out.Ĭlick to shrink. The more I play the game the more Im okay with the idea of NPC ships that carry some decent loot to steal. The game only allows 16 players per instance, max of 4 total ships, so chances of finding and unmanned outpost to turn stuff into is high. They could of easily played nice at first and when turning in they could of attacked us. When we did, we noticed which outpost they were going too and decided to go to a different one because you never know the intentions of other pirates. We even joined another group of 4 to take on a Skelly fort and we all agree to split the loot. I hope you give it another go, I love playing it solo as well with a group and in both cases, solo or group, I always and our team always kept a close eye on our surroundings. I get the 3 hours wasted with what happened, but really, you only have yourself to blame for having 3 hours worth of cargo and not keeping an eye out. You say "fucking terrible" I would think based on what happened to you it was more that you were "fucking terrible" at the game by not scoping out your destination. A solo Sloop can out run a 4 man ship easily. If you understood that part, you would know if you have cargo on your boat, you would do your due diligence to scope out your out destination from afar and if you see another ship then set sail for a different out post. Perhaps you did not realize that this is a Pirate game and that there are other players in the world. Because you played it terribly, you blame the game. No way are there players manning all 7-8 of those outposts. There are a total of about 7-8 outposts on the map to turn in quests at.
